The Thrill Of Victory And The Agony Of Defeat

On the thrill of victory side, a great thing that happened was that my daughter Victoria got accepted into the Masters program at the University of Pennsylvania law school! Yay! It’s one of the top law schools in the country.

On the agony of defeat side, after spending a great deal of time working on the JW Marriott Water Street drawing I concluded that I’d have to start all over again. I’d been using a portable T-Square that wasn’t accurate enough. So, I’ve bought what may be the most expensive T-Square available and am about to start all over.

We moved my Aunt Betty Tribble into a new place. She’ll be living at Lake Seminole Square now as we get ready to sell the house she’s been in. The new place is absolutely gorgeous and other people take care of everything and the food is outstanding!

I’ve been a Star Trek fan for an extremely long time and I recently got a great gift from my cousins Marc & Lisa Jacobson. They got tickets for all of us to a special event at the Straz Center in Tampa. They played the Star Trek Wrath Of Khan movie on the big screen and it was followed by an hour and a half talk by William Shatner (Captain Kirk) who had flown in for the event. It was one of the most thoughtful gifts I’ve ever gotten!

To close out November Nancy and I went up to Asheville for several days. We had a wonderful time up in the mountains of North Carolina. In addition to Asheville we visited the nearby towns of Black Mountain, Waynesville, and Hendersonville. If you get the chance to go it’s a beautiful area to spend some time…especially if you want to escape Florida’s summer heat.
